We are thrilled to introduce our medical director, Dr. Chris Turnpaugh, as he shares his clinical wisdom about inflammation. Inflammation is one of the biggest drivers of cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases and causes a multitude of health problems. About the speaker:
Dr. Chris Turnpaugh, DC, DACNB is a skilled practitioner whose primary focus is on finding and addressing the root cause of disease. He has extensive experience in supporting patients who are dealing with the most difficult, chronic, autoimmune and neurological health conditions. Patients from around the country seek out his expertise to restore their health. Since opening his practice in 1999, he has worked with local hospitals and national laboratories to implement testing protocols leading to further breakthroughs in the treatment of complicated cases.
Dr. Turnpaugh’s vast knowledge of functional medicine and functional neurology, coupled with more than 16 years in practice, has earned him a reputation of being well-respected by his peers and other medical professionals. In 2013, he was invited to join the board of the International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation. His application of functional medicine as it relates to the neuroendocrine system is a unique clinical approach to non-pharmacological treatments.
Dr. Turnpaugh frequently lectures to colleagues, medical students and doctors of all disciplines in order to promote a better understanding of the benefits of the functional medicine approach and its clinical application. He has a unique ability to take the most complicated cases and break them down to an easy-to-understand level for both practitioners and patients. He routinely consults with a variety of disciplines of doctors.
Dr. Turnpaugh has extensive knowledge in brain genetic disorders and specializes in Fragile X Syndrome. For more than ten years, he has worked with an extensive array of neurobehavioral disorders in children including those that have been diagnosed with symptoms of ADD/ADHD, PDD, Asperger’s, autism, selective mutism, seizure disorder, emotional detachment disorder, as well as many others.
Dr. Turnpaugh received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics and pre-med from Bloomsburg University. He is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College and received his diplomate from The Carrick Institute and is board certified in chiropractic neurology. His interest in functional medicine began early in his career. He currently lectures to Doctors around the country on topics such as Functional Blood Chemistry, Thyroid Disorders, Environmental Toxins and Mastering Brain Chemistry. His passion for HEALTH care led him to open the Pennsylvania Center for Integrative Health in July 2014. It is a multi-disciplinary center located in Mechanicsburg. He and his wife, Heather, have four children and reside in Mechanicsburg, PA.
